This website came about because of lingering civic distress over the clear-cutting of a 100-year-old pecan grove on the edge of Austin's most cherished public park  <<•>>  I've never considered myself an environmental activist. In fact, I remain unsettled about how to weigh the rights of property owners against the preservation of our tree population. So I originally set out just to document the tree-cutting. I was surprised how much it affected me; surprised how strong the feelings about these particular trees run throughout our town. And finally I felt compelled to share the still images and the video I captured, which have made their way into the short film "At What Cost?"  <<•>>  Besides serving as a place to host the video, the site offers some resources for those who'd like to explore further and a place for those who wish to offer comments. Click to play the video.
